The Conscious and Subconscious Mind

Start Being Open-Minded

This will work in harmony with last weeks post: Changing Your Thinking.

Creating and Directing new ideas.

The conscious mind serves as our intellect. It is the part of us that thinks and reasons throughout our day, and it is where we have the ability to direct our thinking in any way we choose. If we truly direct our focus and energy here, we have the capability to build any idea or thought we want, even those that are not yet part of our current reality. Remember, nothing external can affect our internal, unless we allow it.

Your conscious mind has the ability to accept or reject any idea.

Accepting new ideas

Being open-minded is essential when accepting new ideas. These are the ideas in which our intuition present to our conscious mind, as we begin to create a new way of thinking. We have been conditioned our entire life on how to think, and what to believe. An individual operating with a closed mind, will reject any unfamiliar ideas that come to their conscious mind. These are the ideas we have been conditioned to view as “unrealistic”. If you want new results, you must not only create a new way of thinking but also open your mind to accepting “unrealistic ideas”.

The ideas that are fixed in our subconscious mind control our lives, and we put them there. The subconscious accepts any thought or idea that the conscious mind chooses to accept. It does not have the ability to question or reject thoughts passed from our conscious mind, which is a terrific thing once we understand it. It means that we have the capability to control our lives based on the thoughts and ideas we consciously choose to accept, because our subconscious mind has no choice but to internalize and believe in them.

Once we understand this, we can apply it to our goals. Be open minded to setting an “unrealistic” goal. Rather a goal that in your opinion is a stretch, a goal that you do not know a path to achieve it. Choose your thoughts, internalize your belief behind them, results will come.

Conscious Mind: The thinking mind

Subconscious Mind: Is deeper. It is where we internalize thoughts and ideas, and it is where our beliefs lie.

“The conscious mind can accept or reject any idea. No person or circumstance can force you to think any thoughts you do not want. This is important because the thoughts you choose—whether they come from outside or inside—will eventually determine your results in life. As you accept a thought, it is impressed upon your subconscious mind”. -Bob Proctor
